CIFF Kekec
Slovenia is about to get a new film festival. From July 3-5, the municipality of Kranjska Gora will host the inaugural edition of Children’s International Film Festival CIFF Kekec. The choice of location and the name of the festival is not accidental: the folklore, literature and film hero Kekec is actually from the area, but the festival founders built their ideas up from the last year’s experience hosting the central celebration of 120th anniversary of the first Slovenian film, with Kekec films as centrepieces of the programme.
The film programme of the festival consists of three feature films for children and youth audiences: Pixie. The New Beginning, I Accidentally Wrote a Book and Greetings from Mars and three slots of selected short films. It will be complemented by Little Film School, circus workshops and a show, a concert and an industry programme for film professionals that is realised in collaboration with the Slovenian Film Centre.
The project leader is KUD Javk, while the partners are Slovenian Film Centre, Kranjska Gora Tourism, AIPA and Sagar. Miha Mohorič serves as the festival director and Klemen Dvornik as the programme director. More information about the upcoming festival can be found on the link.
