RE-ACT, a Co-Development Fund

RE-ACT is a new initiative set up by Slovenian Film Centre, Croatian Audiovisual Centre and Friuli Venezia Giulia Audiovisual Fund in collaboration with TorinoFilmLab aimed in developing new audiovisual projects and fostering international co-productions.

It is designed for filmmakers and producers who wish to foster closer ties within Slovenia, Croatia and Friuli Venezia Giulia (IT).

RE-ACT Co-Development Fund is a development fund that will support maximum 6 projects linked with a minimum financial support of 10.000 eur per project per year. Programme Council appointed by three member funds reads and evaluates projects.

Call for entries will be opened in September 2015.

Eligibility criteria

  • Feature-length fiction, documentary, animation and experimental projects in either an early or advanced stage of development
  • Either thematically linking our territories or three co-producing countries/producers already on board
  • A development support from at least one of the member funds already in place and at least two countries/producers from the member countries already on board

RE-ACT workshop is a brand new development workshop taking place alongside the TorinoFilmLab international FrameWork programme.

6 creative teams of writer (or director) and producer from Croatia, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Slovenia will have the unique opportunity to:

  • hold individual meetings with TFL and RE-ACT experts/tutors focusing on the main areas of filmmaking, such as script development, directing, image, sound, producing
  • work in group sessions and form long term creative and business partnerships
  • participate in FrameWork's plenary sessions
  • take part in a tailor-made networking platform and present their projects to possible co-producing partners and film funds' representatives from FVG, Slovenia and Croatia

Target group

  • creative teams of writer (or director) and producer from partner countries/regions: Croatia, Friuli Venezia Giulia andSlovenia with development support from one of the 3 partner funds already in place or projects with at least two producers from partner countries on board

Project criteria

  • feature-length projects (both fiction and documentary) thematically linking the territories of three partner countries/regions and with a clear co-production potential
  • 1st draft of the script available in English for the workshop and by 1 July at the latest

Documents to be submitted by 16 April 2015 for the 1st RE-ACT Workshop, 21–24 July 2015, Motovun, Croatia:

  • 1 page letter of motivation concerning your participation at the workshop
  • 1 page synopsis
  • 8–10 pages treatment
  • 1 page note of intention of the producer and the writer (or the director)
  • profile of the producer and the writer (or the director)
  • company profile

Scripts should be ready in time for the workshop by July 1, 2015.

Participation fees & conditions:

The participation at RE-ACT Workshop is free of charge. Each participant will be offered accommodation during the workshop and we will cover part of the meals.

Deadline for submissions:

All documents have to be sent in English via email by 16 April 2015 to info@filmreact.eu.

Final selection

The RE-ACT Programme Council appointed by three member funds reads all eligible projects and evaluates the artistic excellence, feasibility and coherence of the project as a future co-production in between participating countries/regions. A special care will be taken to ensure a fair balance of approved projects per country/region and per genre.

The selection will be publicly announced during the Cannes Film Festival 2015.
