The Best Actor in Bratislava

The third International Film Festival took place between 11 October and 8 December in Slovakia's capital city of
Bratislava. Together with 21 films in the competition program Bread and Milk, written and directed by Jan Cvitkovič, was also presented. The jury consisting of five people decided that this year's Grand Prix of the festival would go to the Iranian film Daughter of the Sun. The award for best actor went to the Slovenian actor Peter Musevski for his role of Ivan in the film Bread and Milk. The film also received a special acknowledgement of the jury, FIPRESCI (the international association of film critics). Besides the Lion of the Future award in Venice - the award for best full-length first film, the "Vodomec" award at LIFF, the "Darko Bratina" award, four awards or acknowledgements in Cottbus and the two awards of the "Stop" newspaper's jury for best actors (Peter Musevski and Sonja Saviæ) in Portorož, Bread and Milk already received as many as 12 acknowledgements. The film, which is also the Slovenian candidate for the nomination for the Academy Award for best foreign film, has until now been seen by 18.000 viewers in Slovenian cinemas.
