And the Vesna Awards Go To...

In Portoroz, on 6 April 2002, the 5th Slovenian Film Festival awards were presented. The award for life’s work went to the director
  1. The Metod Badjura Award for life’s work went to the director Joze Gale. This award was presented by the Slovenian Film Artists Association.
  2. The Festival Expert Jury Awards:
    • Vesna Award for Best Picture: Rustling Landscapes by the director Janez Lapajne;
    • Vesna Award for Best Actor: Grega Zorc for his role of Primoz in the full-length film Rustling Landscapes by the director Janez Lapajne and for his role of Mare in the full-length film Ljubljana by the director Igor Sterk;
    • Vesna Award for Best Actress: Iva Krajnc for her role of Simone in the full-length film Guardian of the Frontier by the director Maja Weiss;
    • Vesna Award for Best Short Film: (A)Torsion by the director Stefan Arsenijevic;
    • Vesna Special Acknowledgement: Karpo Godina, the screenwriter, director and editor of the full-length documentary The Story of Mr. P.F.;
    • Vesna Award for Best Film or Documentary Work on Magnetic Tape: Natasa Matjasec for the film Tiigra;
    • Vesna Award for Best Student film: Marko Nabersnik for the film Pavle;
    • Vesna Award for Best Director: Maja Weiss for the full-length film Guardian of the Frontier;
    • Vesna Award for Best Cinematography: Ven Jemersic for full-length film Ljubljana by Igor Sterk;
    • Vesna Award for Best Scenography: Pepi Sekulic for full-length film Headnoise directed by Andrej Kosak;
    • Vesna Award for Best Costume Design: Marija Kobi for the full-length film Poet’s Portrait with a Double;
    • Vesna Award for Best Musical Score: Sasa Losic for the full-length film Headnoise by Andrej Kosak.
  3. The Joze Babic Award:
    • for Best Television Documentary Work: Almi Lapajne for directing the television program Anvil of Dreams;
    • for Best Television Film: Franci Slak for directing the full-length film Poet’s Portrait with a Double;
  4. The Audience Award:
    • The best film as chosen by the audience is the film Rustling Landscapes by the director Janez Lapajne.
  5. The STOP magazine awards:
    • STOP’s actor of the year: Jernej Sugman in Headnoise;
    • STOP’s actress of the year: Ksenija Misic in Headnoise;
    • STOP’s supporting actor of the year: Gregor Zorc in Rustling Landscapes;
    • STOP’s promising actress of the year: Iva Krajnc in Guardian of the Frontier.
  6. The award of the jury of the Slovenian Film Critics Association:
    • The award for Best Picture went to the film Rustling Landscapes by the director Janez Lapajne.
