The Academy Awards 2003 - a Nomination for Spare Parts!

The Slovenian Film Artists Association (DSFU) has informed us that the expert jury, appointed by the executive board of DSFU, has decided with the majority of votes that the following film be nominated for the
best foreign language film and other categories the Academy allows the national expert associations from the field of film in countries where the official language is not English to suggest their own national entries for the sake of the goings-on in their cinematographies being more transparent. According to the decision of the Academy, the choice for the Republic of Slovenia is carried out by the Slovenian Film Artists Association (DSFU). At its 3rd executive board meeting on 11 June 2003 the executive board of DSFU appointed the jury, consisting of the following members: Ivan Marincek, director of photography, president of the jury Jure Pervanje, director of photography Zdravko Barisic, animator Arne Brejc, director Boris Jurjasevic, director Rado Likon, director of photography Mojca Hrusevar, organiser Bostjan Vrhovec, director Zemira Alajbegovic, video artist and journalist On Wednesday, 17 September 2003, the expert jury has watched the following films, which fulfil the conditions, in the Komuna cinema in Ljubljana:
  1. ON THE SUNNY SIDE; directed by Miha Hocevar, produced by Studio Arkadena
  2. BLIND SPOT; directed by Hanna A. W. Slak, produced by: Bindweed Soundvision
  3. SPARE PARTS; directed by Damjan Kozole, produced by Emotionfilm
The jury has decided with the majority of votes that the following film be nominated for the Academy Award for the best foreign language feature film in the year 2003: Spare Parts, directed by Damjan Kozole, produced by Emotionfilm. Congratulations!
