Suburbs Receives a Special Jury Award

At the 22nd Film Festival in Annonay, France, the film Suburbs by the writer and director Vinko Möderndorfer, produced by Forum Ljubljana, received the Special Prize of the Expert Jury, which is one of the two jury awards at this festival.

This is already the second award for the film Suburbs at the French film festivals after it received the Award for Best Film according to the young audience at the 26th International Mediterranean Film Festival in Montpellier.

Festival International du Premier Film – Annonay, which took place from 4 to 14 February this year, was founded in 1984. In time it became one of the most important cultural events in that region. Since 1988 only film debuts from all continents are presented in the competition section.

This year seven other films were also chosen for the main competition section, where the Slovenian film SUBURBS was also presented: LA NUIT DE LA VÉRITÉ (France), BUENA VIDA DELIVERY (Argentina), MY JEALOUS BARBER (Norway), BYE BYE TIGER (Germany / France), LITTORAL (Canada), KONTROLL (Hungary) and HOW I KILLED A SAINT (Macedonia). The program of the festival also consists of feature films in the non-competition section, the competition section of short films, homage to Serge Riaboukine, the section of films for younger viewers, etc.
