Gravehopping successful in Warsaw

At the 21st Warsaw Film Festival (7 – 16 October) Gravehopping received the CentEast Award for the best film shown during the regional CentEast – Warsaw screenings.

Gravehopping was chosen for the award by the accredited filmmakers at the festival, and the award was given by Jaroslaw Sander, the director of film productions at the POLSAT Television, which also contributed the monetary part of the award, amounting to 2500 Euros. This is the second competition film festival for Cvitkovič's film after the premiere in San Sebastian and also the second award. Gravehopping qualified for the competition section of New Films, New Directors, where the Grand Prix and 5000 Euros went to the Croatian film Sorry About Kung Fu by the director Ognjen Sviličiæ. The co-production film Red Couloured Grey Truck by Srdjan Koljeviæ competed in the same section; it received the international jury of the film critics (Fipresci) award for best first or second film from Central and Eastern Europe.

On October 17th Gravehopping opened the 3rd Zagreb Film Festival . The director and the film crew also attended the premiere. The film is in the competition section of the festival, competing for the Golden Bib Award, which is going to be given by the jury consisting of the Chinese director and actor Li Yang, Dutch producer Denis Vaslin, and Serbian actor Slavko Štimac.
