Tuning by Igor Šterk the best film in Mannheim
It was given to him by the jury, consisting of Claudia Bedogni (Italy), Miguel Pereira (Argentina), Dr. Veit Heiduschka (Austria), Micha Schiwow (Switzerland) and Alexander Bohr (Germany). They wrote in their explanation: "For the precise use of film language in the construction of a powerful visual narrative about the deconstruction of a middle class family."
This is the first international award for Tuning. An interesting detail: it was given to him by the festival which was the first international festival where Šterk's first film Express Express appeared in the competition program back in 1997.
Tuning, the third feature film by Igor Šterk, had its world premiere in July 2005 in the competition section of the festival in Karlovy Vary, and after that it was successfully shown at festivals all over Europe and America: Montreal, Chicago, Pecs, Ghent, Montpellier and Denver. Its Slovenian premiere is going to take place on 2nd December at the 8th Festival of Slovenian Film in Portorož.
The film was produced by A.A.C. Production with the financial support of the Slovenian Film Fund. Starring Peter Musevski, Nataša Burger, Polona Juh and Andraž Polič.
