Two New Awards for Gravehopping by Jan Cvitkovič

At the 4th Spirit of Fire film festival in the Siberian city of Khanty Mansysk Jan Cvitkovič received two awards: the Silver Taiga for the second best film in the competition section and a special jury award for the most impressive scene in a film.

The festival took place between 25th February and 3rd March in the Siberian city Khanty Mansysk, which is also the capital of the Khanty Mansysk region. Gravehopping qualified for the competition section and was very well accepted by the audience.

It had its world premiere in September 2005 at the 53rd International Film Festival in San Sebastian, where it received the prestigious Altadis - New Directors Award for the director's best first and second film. In the regular cinematographic distribution in Slovenia the film Gravehopping was seen by almost 20.000 viewers.

Otherwise it is also going to be shown this month at the festivals in Sofia (Bulgaria), Mar del Plati (Argentina), Copenhagen (Denmark), Vilnius (Lithuania), Bradford (United Kingdom), Belfast (Ireland) and Bangladesh.

From 10 March Gravehopping is going to be distributed in the Spanish cinemas. The Spanish distributor is the Alta Classics company.

Gravehopping was produced by the Staragara production company from Ljubljana and co-produced by Propeler Film from Zagreb and Slovenian National Television. It was financially supported by the Film Fund of the Republic of Slovenia and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia.
