Slovenian shorts on Festivals in June

The Short film A Slice of Life directed by Martin Turk received the Award for Best Short Film on the 9th Festival of Slovenian Film in Portorož and began its international festival release in January 2007 on the first-films Premiers Plans Festival in the French town of Angers.

In June A Slice of Life will be screened in Spain twice. The film will compete among fifty-one films from the whole world on the 35th Huesca Film Festival that will take place between 7th and 16th June. Shortly after, it will be screened on the 22nd edition of Cinema Jove International Festival in Valencia (16th – 23rd June). Another Slovenian short film My Son, a Sexual Maniac directed by Goran Vojnoviæ will be shown in the competition of fifty films by young directors. For that film, this is the first international festival. Films from France and Germany prevail on both Spanish festivals.

Both Slovenian short films were produced by Arsmedia with financial support of the Slovenian Film Fund.

The Munich Film festival is second biggest festival in Germany after Berlinale. This year it is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Between 22nd and 30th June the short animated film by Grega Mastnak Beezes-Tamer will be screened. The serial Beezes was produced by Casablanca with financial support of the Slovenian Film Fund.
