An Award for the Slovenian Actress Aleksandra Balzamoviæ

Between 21st and 28th August already the 40th Festival of Actors' Achievements took place in Niš.

This festival is still dedicated to the actors' accomplishments, as it was in the former Yugoslavia. Now it is a festival for films and co-productions from Serbia and Monte Negro; 11 films were shown there, among them Midwinter Night's Dream by Goran Paskaljeviæ, We Are Not Angels 2 by Srdjan Dragojeviæ and the Serbian – Slovenian – German co-production Red Coloured Grey Truck by Srdjan Koljeviæ.

Aleksandra Balzamoviæ received the Carica Teodora Award for Best Female Role and the Yu Fipresci Film Critics' Award for her role in Red Coloured Grey Truck; and the Car Konstantin Award for Best Male Role went to Srdjan Todoroviæ's role in the same film.

Aleksandra Balzamoviæ was the first Slovenian actress in the Shooting Stars project at Berlinale 2005, organised by European Film Promotion, whose members we are from this year on. Aleksandra performed her role in the competition of 20 promising young actors and actresses from the whole of Europe.
