This film introduces us to the Trdina Year, which was celebrated in the Slovenian Dolenjska region and the whole of Slovenia in 2005. We enter the house where the writer Janez Trdina lived and died. Suddenly, like in Trdina's fairy tales, we are in the room with the aging writer lying in bed. All the important townspeople are here to bid farewell to their fellow townsman; however, they are more preoccupied with his scandalous writings. Trdina shakes off the townsmen and slips into town, but it is our time. A myriad of natures, events and characters, which Trdina catalogued in the 19th century, is colourfully intertwined with good and bad habits of modern townspeople. We witness a kind of a timeless account of our ancestors and our contemporaries.
